Wholemeal Blue Cheese Pizza

Get yourself some wholemeal flour at home, so you can afford this pleasure for up to a few times a month. You should also get tomato puree or homemade tomato sauce as a mandatory ingredient, and I will leave the rest to your imagination.
Servings: 4 yield(s)
Prep Time: 60 mins
Cook Time: 25 mins
Total Time: 85 mins
Ingredients
    Dough
  • 1,5 cup of wholemeal flour (and a bit more for sprinkling)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2/3 cup of lukewarm water
  • Pizza topping
  • 1/2 cup of tomato paste
  • 4 pieces of prosciutto (optional)
  • several mushrooms
  • 1 handful of basil
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • several pieces of blue cheese
Instructions
  1. Combine the dough ingredients in a bowl and mix with a wooden spoon until a dough is obtained.
  2. Leave the dough to stand in a greased bowl for about 1 hour, covered with a cloth.
  3. Transfer the dough to a large baking tray with leftover paper. Spread it with wet fingers from the middle and spread the dough towards the ends. You should get a large rectangular pizza with unprinted (thicker) edges - see photos.
  4. Coat with tomato puree and chili, then arrange prosciutto, mushrooms and a pinch of salt.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes at 200 degrees.
  6. Add the basil leaves and blue cheese, then return the pizza to the oven until the cheese is melted.
