Hawaiian Chicken (With Pineapple)

Servings: 4 yield(s)
Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 30 mins
Total Time: 40 mins
Ingredients
  • 500 g chicken meat
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp dried red paprika
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 paprika (green or red)
  • 1 fresh pineapple (or pineapple can)
  • 1/3 chili spice (add more if you want it spicier)
  • 2 tsp honey (add more if you want it sweeter)
  • 100 ml cooking cream
  • 1 tsp corn starch
  • 1 scallion
Instructions
  1. Chop the chicken into cubes and season with salt, soy sauce, red pepper and a little bit of oil. Let it stand for 5 minutes in that marinade.
  2. Fry the chopped onion, scallion and pepper in a little oil, then add the chicken and simmer until soft and firm (15 minutes).
  3. Add the chopped pineapple and a little corn starch mixed with a bit of pineapple liquid. I recommend using fresh pineapple because it is a healthier version, but it is also made with canned pineapple.
  4. Add chili, honey and hops and simmer for another 10 minutes on low heat. Serve it with rice or potatoes as a side dish.
